揹獵物的女人，表達了女性的堅毅與強韌的包容。「揹」不僅止於體能上的負重，同時也意味著承擔起傳統狩獵文化的傳遞。

本片紀錄了太魯閣族女性Heydi．Mijung，作為部落裡唯一的女獵人，她遵循著Gaya祖訓，實踐著對山林與生態關係的觀察與守護。在那一年冬天為期四個月的狩獵季節裡，Heydi帶著作為年輕狩獵者的侄兒Ibau與鏡頭後方的女兒，一步一步重返她走踏了一輩子的獵場，確認路徑、觀察獵徑、放下陷阱，等待著祖先的贈與。

The Woman Carrying the Prey expresses by extension the strength and perseverance of women. “Carrying” refers not only to the physical load that needs to be lifted, it also means the weight of carrying on the traditional hunting culture.  This film is about Heydi Mijung, a Truku woman and the only female hunter in her tribe, who follows the ancestral tradition of Gaya, practices the traditional hunting skills of the Truku, and maintains the balance of the entire forest with her hunting methods. During that winter’s four-month-long hunting season, Heydi takes her nephew Ibau, a young hunter, and her daughter behind the camera, as they head step-by-step into the hunting ground she has been traveling all her life, identifying trails, observing paths, laying snares, and waiting for gifts from the ancestors.
