我真的能成為真正的原住民嗎？

十字繡：一般魯凱族女子都必須學會刺繡，也是呈現婦女的勤勞美德。

This work, “The Calling", was developed from the fieldwork of the film “The Woman Carrying the Prey" in the fall/winter of 2021-2022. It is about the supernatural power of the Taroko hunters, the hunting grounds and the traditional beliefs that are closely linked to the rituals. If the prey could not be found in the same hunting area, one would use the power of the spirits to obtain the prey:

In a dream
With every needle and thread
I followed the path of cross stitch.
Piercing back and forth into the flesh
to imprint my culture on my body and my flesh.
Will I ever become a real indigenous person?

Cross-stitch: It is compulsory for Rukai women to learn how to embroider, and it is a way of demonstrating the virtue of women’s diligence.
